One Last Buff

I found Mike and Mary in the hangar giving the ol' Scissortail a good buffing. Lawrence, Mary's hubby, helped us add a bit of enforcing tape around the edges of the numbers to keep them from tearing off, bit by bit, over the two-thousand seven hundred miles of cross country flying.

For now I will set aside my IFR and helicopter training to concentrate on our race. Mary does not like to arise early (she gets grumpy, she says) but she adds that during the race she might, depending on the winds, temps, and all those weather conditions that concern pilots. Perhaps one morning we may see a sun rise such as the one in the photo below taken at Kickapoo yesterday.
